General Conference, etc.

Saturday, April 2nd

We watched the 9am and 1pm sessions of General Conference at home.  That evening Shirleen, Amelia, and Lizzie went to the G's stake center to watch the 5pm (women & YW) session.  Paul and Michael went here for dinner:

Sunday, April 3rd

We watched the 9am and 1pm sessions of General Conference at home.  That evening A&B&5Kids and M&L joined us for dinner.

Monday, April 4th

Paul mowed the front & back yards, and we went to the post office to mail a birthday card to Leo C, and to mail baby gifts to one of Rob & Lisa's sons & his wife for their new child.

Tuesday, April 5th

Paul drove to A&B's home to pick up Melody for her Tuesday preschool.  The Gs had a vehicle problem!  Here's A&B's van (in front of A&B's home), about to be transported to the repair place.

The driver departed; and Paul, Amy, Melody, and James then drove over to the repair place, here:

Amy talked to the repair folks; then Paul, Amy, Melody, and James drove to Paul & Shirleen's home for a brief visit.  Amy then borrowed P&S's 2008 Buick; drove Melody to her preschool (close to where P&S live); and drove back home with James.  Paul picked up Melody after preschool (using "Brownie", our other vehicle) and took her home.  That evening Paul drove to the G's home, picked up Lizzie, took her to her violin lesson, and brought her home when the lesson concluded.

Wednesday, April 6th

We attended an Endowment session at the temple, then picked up Melody for preschool.  That evening we attended the Easter Pageant on the grounds of the Mesa Temple.  Here are some photos:

Thursday, April 7th

There was an evening open house at Franklin Elementary School!  We went there, and joined with A&B&5Kids & the kids' other grandma (Laure) for a tour through Esther's, Karsten's, and Maylee's classrooms.  We also toured through an area where various student projects, etc., were displayed.  We then went to the auditorium where various awards were handed out to students in the various grade levels.  Here are some representative photos of what we saw that evening (labeled, by grandchild)

Friday, April 8th

We served at the temple on our regular early morning shift.

Saturday, April 9th

Paul bought a new weed eater (battery-powered)!

Sunday, April 10th

Paul started his day with a bishopric meeting at 7:30am.  Sacrament Meeting began at 9am, followed by Priesthood & Relief Society.  Shortly after the block ended we went to choir practice.  Then we went home.  Following dinner there was a practice for a piano/string ensemble at our home (in preparation for our Easter Program in a couple of weeks).  Later, Michael & LeAnn dropped by, and we played a couple of rounds of QUIXX.  And, that evening, Paul got this photographic view of our front yard garden:

We are now looking forward a special stake conference next Sunday.
