Recent Important Events

Saturday, February 4th, 2022

In the morning we drove to Joseph City, Arizona.  Why?  Because on this day we witnessed the baptism of Tiernan Leith Jaramillo.

As it happens, our planned route included driving north on Gilbert Road, but there was a marathon underway, and part of Gilbert Road was blocked off.  So, we got on the US60, headed west to the 101, then got on the 202, and finally got to Gilbert Road, which then permitted us to get onto the Beeline Highway.  BTW, Bryce was one of the marathon runners, and here he is with his participant medallion.  Way to go, #1110!

We made it to Joseph City in time for the baptism.  Here are portions of the program:

After the baptism we went to Heidi's home in Holbrook for a luncheon.  If you like brisket, that was the place to be.  Her husband prepared it, and he knows what he's doing!

The family have chickens, dogs, cats, and ... 3 axolotls in an aquarium.  Here's one we got a photo of:

Following the luncheon, and visiting, etc., we headed home.  Along the way we saw lots of snow:

There was also snow to be seen when we took a detour through the Christopher Creek area, and saw the lodge where we have stayed in the past.

In summary, Joseph City and Holbrook were good places to visit on 2/4/2023!

It has been said that the world is renewed in innocence when a new child is born.  If so, then Mother Earth got one more blessing on this date when Kaylene gave birth to Ann Louise Corcoran.  We are delighted with this blessed event, and look forward to the day when we can meet her in person.  Until then, we have some photographs.

Paul and Amelia met at the Mesa Arizona Temple.  The occasion?  Amelia had prepared some names for baptism.  She served as proxy; Paul performed the baptisms and confirmations.  What a nice family activity!  Shirleen was ill, so she remained at home.
