June 2023 in Review

Friday, June 2nd

Our 52nd wedding anniversary!  We were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1971.  And, these many years later, we were at that same temple for our usual morning shift as ordinance workers.

Tuesday, June 6th

Paul went in for a routine INR (anti-coagulation) blood test.  Later, the two of us went to our usual evening shift at Family Services.

Thursday, June 8th

Shirleen went in to our doctor's office for a blood draw.

Friday, June 9th

We were at the Mesa Temple for our usual morning shift as ordinance workers.

Saturday, June 10th

We attended a ballet performance of the Wizard of Oz, in which Evan and Tarmy's three daughters performed.  Here are three of the Griners, Shirleen & 3 the Gs, and E&T's daughters:

Tuesday, June 13th

The two of us went to our usual evening shift at Family Services.

Friday, June 16th

We were at the Mesa Temple for our usual morning shift as ordinance workers.  Later, we went to our family doctor's office for Shirleen to have a follow-up discussion regarding the results of recent blood testing (see June 8th).

Saturday, June 17th

In the morning we attended a string recital in which Lizzie performed.  Later in the day we enjoyed a combined (early) Father'sDayPaul'sBirthday crab leg (and other good things) dinner at our home with the Griners and Michael & LeAnn.

Monday, June 19th

Shirleen went in to the Tri-City Cardiovascular Institute for a "left-heart catheterization".  One "long" stent was placed that addressed two blockage areas.  Her family has a history of heart issues, and she was not spared.  The point of entry was the right wrist (to access a radial artery).

Tuesday, June 20th

Mike came to our home to work (because LeAnn was painting their office at their house).  Later, the two of us went to Family Services for our evening shift there.

Thursday, June 22nd

Paul's birthday.  Let's see... just how many years ago was he born?

      2023 - 1946 = 77 (that's 3 score, 10, and 7 years, in case you were wondering) 

Oh, and that birth took place in Tacoma, Washington, USA.

Shirleen had an appointment at Tri-City Cardiology (Banner Baywood location) to receive a mobile cardio-telemetry unit.

Friday, June 23rd

Paul went in for his usual Friday morning service as an ordinance worker at the Mesa Arizona Temple.  Shirleen had arranged for a substitute to take her place that day as she continued recovering from the catheterization (her right wrist was still quite bruised & discolored).

Saturday, June 24th

We attended the funeral services for Juanita Washburn, a friend of many years.  Here is a link to her obituary:

Sunday, June 25th

We attended a grand-nephew's mission farewell.  Ryan is one of Steve & Amy Lunt's sons, and is headed to the California Riverside Spanish-speaking Mission.

Monday, June 26th

Shirleen had an appointment with her cardiologist.

Tuesday, June 27th

The two of us went to our usual evening shift at Family Services.

Thursday, June 29th

Shirleen had an appointment with our family physician.

Friday, June 30th

Shirleen & Amy, along with Bryce & Amy's five children travelled to Prescott, Arizona.  After some time at a fast-food place they went on through town and out onto the Senator Highway for the drive to the Groom Creek area, to the so-called "Palmer" cabin (named after Bryce's maternal grandparents).
