End of April, and a Day in May

Monday, April 25th

We enjoyed our weekly online FHE, but without the Gs, who had another commitment.

Tuesday, April 26th

Paul transported Melody to & from preschool.  That evening we attended a fun performance of singers at Franklin at Brimhall Elementary School.  Not all of the grades performed, but Maylee's (2nd Grade) was one that did.  And what did they sing?

• The Bull Frog
• Clouds
• The Swine Song

Wednesday, April 27th

We went to an Endowment Session at the Mesa Arizona Temple in the morning.  Paul transported Melody to & from preschool.  We later went to Banner Baywood to pick up sleep study equipment for Shirleen.  That evening some ward youth came to our home and performed a service project (some cleanup of our back patio).

Thursday, April 28th

The two of us picked up Melody for her preschool, but on the way there we took a detour, and dropped off Shirleen's sleep study equipment at Banner Baywood (the results are expected to be known when Shirleen has her next appointment at the neurology office).  We then delivered Melody to her preschool.  Later, Paul picked her up and took her home.  That evening we were back at Franklin at Brimhall.

This time it was for their 4th, 5th, and 6th grade song performances entitled, "Songs of Peace, Love and Memories".  The Griners are in only two of those classes, and here's what they sang:

It was a fun evening with good entertainment!

Friday, April 29th

We were at the temple for our regular shift (prayer meeting starts at 6:30am).  Later in the day we attended John Ellingson's funeral service.  We first met John and Carmalee Ellingson in 1972 when we moved to Tempe, AZ from Provo, UT, and became members of Tempe 1st Ward.  The Ellingsons -- a really nice couple.  Later, Shirleen attended the first day of our stake women's conference.

Saturday, April 30th

In the morning, Paul got in some time riding his new bicycle in the neighborhood.  And Shirleen was off & away to the second day of the stake women's conference.

Sunday, May 1st

Paul attended a Bishopric Meeting in the morning, then we attended our ward's Fast & Testimony Meeting, and then we went to choir practice.  Shirleen got a ride home, and Paul stayed at the Church for a Ward Council Meeting.  When Paul got home he wrote up minutes of the meetings.  Michael & LeAnn came over for a dinner with us, followed by a game of Quiddler.  Being with family is something we look forward to.  After Michael & LeAnn left Paul wrote up sets of action items from the Bishopric & Ward Council meetings, and sent them out to the other meeting attendees, as applicable.
